1830's Large 4BR in Heart of Acadia! [Somes Villa]

Overall an excellent experience with just one comment regarding privacy. We moved one couch to create a horseshoe of seating for family time and received a message from our host to be sure to replace all furniture to its original location.... hmmmm.Of course we planned to move the couch back and did along with leaving the home in the beautiful condition that we found it, however think its worth sharing that our furniture move was somehow observed.

Our host promptly answered our message and took care of our request. Also, I personally loved how nicely the house was decorated!Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Great property, great location, easy access to Bar Harbor and Acadia national Park. The upstairs bedroom, which faces the busy road, which is busy all night, is extremely noisy. If anyone is renting and will need to use that room, they should be aware that it might be even noisier than indicated in the hosts description. All the other bedrooms are very quiet. In the photos, it is the room that has a queen bed and two twin beds.

We stayed at this property (July 2026) 4 days on a family trip to Acadia. We were 6 adults and 2 grandkids (9 and 7 yr olds). Online description was accurate. Host communication was very good. This house is open, lots of windows/natural light, with a very pleasant vibe. Location was great for exploring Bar Harbor, nearby beach coves, Acadia. Plenty of free parking (we had 2 large SUVs). The garden, patio and outdoor seating were nice touches we used daily. House was spacious and comfortable with places for us to "retreat" for privacy/time out. On a busy main road but with windows closed there was zero road noise. We all slept great. Bedding/linens were nice quality though we could have used wash cloths (very few places provide these now for some reason) and more hand/bath towels. Having the good washer/dryer kept this from being a problem though. We are a family of 2 professional chefs so we prepared many meals in the roomy sunny kitchen. Dishes, flatware and glassware were nice. Cooking supplies were acceptable. Be aware there is no garbage disposal which is no problem with planning. Two minor things the house would benefit from are (1) many more clothes hangers in all rooms please (3d house we have rented recently where we had to purchase hangers - again, not sure why this is a trend everywhere...) and (2) in the kitchen, several cup-sized ramekins or small bowls for small servings, appetizers, snacks. This house was perfect for us and we had a great family trip!

The house is centrally located and very comfortable for our extended family. Very charming with modern conveniences.
